Space: A New Opportunity for Innovation and Growth

Workshop
-
This activity is only available in italian

Today, the new space race represents an extraordinary opportunity for development for businesses, universities, startups, and regions capable of innovating. The space economy — encompassing all economic activities related to space — has surpassed $500 billion globally and is expected to double by 2040.

Space technologies such as satellites, communication systems, tools for climate monitoring, or farming in extreme environments are also revolutionizing traditional sectors like agriculture, logistics, energy, and security. The benefits are increasingly impacting our daily lives.

Italy, and regions like Veneto in particular, are rising to this challenge. Boston Consulting Group, in collaboration with the Venice Sustainability Foundation, has analyzed the region’s potential in the space economy, identifying development pathways with high technological and industrial impact. With an advanced industrial base, top-tier universities, and a dynamic network of SMEs and startups, the region is well-positioned to play a leading role in the new space economy.

This workshop will be an opportunity to explore what is happening in the space sector, why it matters so much today, and what opportunities it holds for the future. A journey into a growing economy, shaped by technology, research, and new prospects for the generations to come.
