The screening of The Social Network will take us back to the origins of Facebook, where ambition, creativity and the dynamics of digital power intertwine in the birth of one of the most influential social networks in the world. The film, rich in insights on technological innovation, online identity and social transformation, opens the debate on the role of digital platforms in our daily lives and the ethical implications of the data economy.
With contributions from content creator and author Sofia Viscardi and psychologist, entrepreneur and populariser Luca Mazzucchelli, we will reflect on the impact of social media on relationships, self-perception and communication models of the younger generations, as well as the psychological and economic challenges associated with the contemporary digital ecosystem.
The evening will conclude with a debate open to the public, who will be invited to participate with questions and reflections.
Massimo Temporelli has a degree in physics and worked for 10 years as a curator at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. Today, he is an entrepreneur in digital fabrication, a consultant and keynote speaker on innovation, with a particular focus on the relationship between humans and technology and all the anthropological and sociological repercussions that this relationship entails and will entail.
He is president and co-founder of TheFabLab, a digital fabrication laboratory based in Milan. He was a TEDx speaker in 2012 (Florence) and 2020 (Turin). He has made popular science television programmes for Sky and Rai. He is the author and voice of the famous podcast F***ing Genius (Storielibere.fm). He writes for Wired and Millionaire magazines and his latest book is Noi siamo tecnologia (We Are Technology) (Mondadori, Strade blu, 2021). In 2016, he won the “Federico Faggin Innovation Award”. He has been an ambassador for AIRC since 2017.
Sofia Viscardi, content creator and author, founded Venti at the age of twenty, a multi-platform editorial channel with multiple voices that gave space and depth to the thoughts of Generation Z.
Luca Mazzucchelli is now one of the most authoritative voices in popular psychology in Italy. With over 1.5 million followers on social media, he has been able to transform scientific knowledge into concrete tools that are accessible to everyone, helping them to face the challenges (and misfortunes) of everyday life.
